Me - Liszt - Liebestraume This is for B-Flat-Minor because they were the only person to vote for a piece. I just recorded this and I’m afraid there are some mistakes in there! I’m only human. Enjoy nonetheless
Considering no one voted I shall pack up and go...
Maybe another day, haha!

Oooo, I like your choice! I was listening to those yesterday morning. I prefer Op.25 so much more than Op.10

There's three ways for me to tell if my piano is...
I can hear it,
Turn the silent system on and compare,
The natural frequency of the metal light guard in the piano room is 440 Hz, when G# starts making it vibrate I call the tuner in.
What an exciting life I lead, ay?

For the follower who wanted to see my hand span. At the end when I play I turn my camera sound off and I’ve got my piano hooked up to my laptop which is recording. Hence why it sounds weird. I had to add the sound up to the video separately after recording. So yeah, I wasn’t lying.

Exciting news time! Over the past 7 months I’ve been going back to the Royal Albert Hall website to check if they’ve put up Valentina Lisitsa’s repertoire for her performance on the 19th of June. Last week I noticed there was more text added to the page. What I read almost brought tears to my…

Would anyone actually be interested in this?
I’m considering making one or two people members of the group. This way we’ll, hopefully, be able to get more posts in. On top of that the posts will be varied and hopefully appeal to a wider range of people! So, thoughts and inputs on that if you wish.

I tried out the £12,999 Yamaha Avant Grand...
stevey226:
It feels nothing like a real piano, it sounds nothing like a real piano… It’s an overly expensive keyboard. It apparently has a real piano action inside. I turned the volume off and it had the clunky sound of a keyboard, was ever so light and didn’t even have the same feel as when the hammer rebounds off of the string. Even the sales guy told me it was shit.
I rest my...

In regards to my previous post...
The U3 Upright Silent Piano is cheaper than the Avant Grand (The one in the picture) and is much better quality.
Of course, if money isn’t really an issue you’d probably go for a C series grand, C2 at the minimum. The U3 is an extremely good piano but there’s ones that are more expensive or cheaper depending on the budget you hold. The Avant Grand, I think, is only good for:

Bach, dynamics, and notable pianists
I wanted to add a little something to your reply regarding Bach dynamics. I’m actually concerned that the teacher asked the student to mark his own dynamics; if he’s never played Baroque music, how would he know what’s stylistically correct?
That being said, he should ask his teacher about terraced dynamics, then look for Rosalyn Tureck’s edition of the inventions. And...
peayeahknow asked: Hi! I've written to you before, but I have a dilemma. I'm an amateur pianist, only started learning properly this January. I'm only learning Bach's Invention No.1 in C, but I've gotten good enough that my piano teacher has started to work with me on the musicality/dynamics. We decided on some things during my lesson, but as homework he told me to mark my own dynamics for...
